What we do

Programs & initiatives.

Three connected efforts: a certification standard, direct farming support, and community-led conservation. Each one strengthens the other two.

Program 01

Agroforestry Support & Sustainable Value Chains

We work directly with indigenous and rural communities in Ecuador's Amazon. We support traditional farming methods and help build fair markets for the crops grown on chakra farms: guayusa, cacao, yuca, ishpingo (Amazonian cinnamon), and banano.

  • Hands-on support for growing many crops together, without chemicals.
  • Connecting harvests to responsible buyers, and cutting out middlemen who take too much.
  • Building farms that stay healthy for the land while creating steady income.

Program 02

Biodiversity Conservation & Community Development

A wide range of projects covering biodiversity, education, cultural preservation, and community-led environmental work. These projects connect nature protection directly to strong communities that can adapt and grow.

  • Recording plants, animals, and land use in the field, done together with community members.
  • Education programs that pass traditional farming knowledge to the next generation.
  • Partnerships with environmental organizations, researchers and foundations.

Program 03

Chakra Alliance Certification

This certification connects both programs above. It is a community-based standard that checks how well a farm protects nature, keeps many plants growing, and cares for culture and land. It gives farming communities control over the process, instead of a standard forced on them from outside.
